The Earl and FamilyEdit

Earl RoderickEdit

The Earl of Salisbury, Roderick is a warrior famed for his prowess, having fought under King Uther against the Saxons to the east. He is noted for his deadly feud with Sir Blains, the Steward of Levcomagus, for whom he holds a deep grudge because they were both suitors of Lady Ellen many years ago.


Countess EllenEdit

The Countess Ellen is a daughter of the Count of Silchester. Her dowry was comprised of several manors that lie on the road between Levcomagus and Mildenhall, for which she was much sought after by many wealthy and influential people, including Sir Blains, Stweard of Levocmagus.


Young RobertEdit

The infant son and heir of the Earl of Salisbury was born in 484. He is the pride of the household and is always surrounded by fawning handmaids.


Lady JennaEdit

The daughter of Earl Roderick and Countess Ellen, Jenna is still a girl and not yet marriageable but her promised dowry is significant. Many suitors are already putting their cases before the earl. Her promised holdings are said to include five demesne manors, five enfeoffed manors and the town of Upavon.

Sir Elad, Marshall of SalisburyEdit

The Marshall of County Salisbury. He is the castellan of Vogen as well


Sir HywelEdit

The banneret of West Lavington, he holds many manors which he inherited from his father; he has only a young daughter. Since his wife died at her birth and he refuses to remarry, his daughter stands to inherit great wealth.


Sir Amig of TilsheadEdit

An older man, scarred and with a noticeable limp, Sir Amig is a veteran of many battles. He was just granted castellanship over Tilshead, built to defend the county against the witches and monsters of the nearby forests.


Sir JaradanEdit

Brash, hot-headed, ambitious and above all skilled, Sir Jaradan is both young and the best swordsman at court. Lady Elsa has developed a thing for him.

Eligible Ladies of SalisburyEdit

Lady AdwenEdit

The beautiful young daughter of Sir Bles, who was killed in battle. Her holding would make her husband a rich knight. Her younger brother, Sir Grangler, holds the manor in her stead until she is married. He is very protective of her.

Lady ElaineEdit

Elaine is a beautiful woman whose first husband was killed by her base-born lover a few years ago, and who was subsequently hanged for killing a knight. She is rich but considered and unfaithful hussy by every other woman in the county.


Lady GwionaEdit

Gwiona is the second handmaiden of Countess Ellen. She is the heiress of two manors. Her last four suitors all were killed in war shortly after proposing to her but the priest says she is not really unlucky.


Lady IndegEdit

A 40-year-old woman, the richest heiress of the county, holding 3 manors in her own right. She has been widowed twice, so she can choose her own husband this time. However, she is lonely and might like a dashing young knight to keep her company.


Religious Figures of SalisburyEdit

Bishop RogerEdit

The Bishop of Salisbury is both wealthy and worldly, in a religious sort of way. His wealth comes from the holdings of the church, including the church holdings of Amesbury and those around Sarum and Warminster, and the other numerous sources of church income. He is well educated, widely read and influential; he loves to travel to London for business. He tends towards practicality when conflict between the count and the church arises.


Father TewiEdit

The priest of Salisbury Castle, Tewi is personal confessor to the early and his wife as well as the general religious overseer of the castle and its people. He is not particularly wealthy but is well maintained by the earl. He loves his drink and is rumored to have a wandering eye when it comes to several of the serving maids.


Logres FiguresEdit

King UtherEdit

Uther is a red-haired bear of a man, a fierce warlod who has fought for years to keep his throne. He is almost 40 years old and has spent little time doing anything but practicing his skills as a warrior. He is a half-hearted British Christian but also respects the pagan faith and the druids who practice it.


Merlin the MagicianEdit

Merlin the Magician is a middle-aged man with great magical powers who serves as an advisor to King Uther. He is steeped in the druidic lore of Britain, wise and mysterious, and rightly feared and respected by everyone with good sense. Merlin’s lord is Britain, not the king, though he helps Uther in many ways.


Madoc ap Uther, Prince of LogresEdit

Prince Madoc is the ambitious, energetic son of King Uther. He is ruthless and hates his foes. He is generous to his followers, but skeptical of others.


Sir Brastias, Right Hand of UtherEdit

Sir Brastias is King Uther’s most trusted man, the chief of Uther’s bodyguard, whose entire life is spent protecting the king. He rarely socializes with anyone but his handpicked guardsmen; he is a gruff, no-nonsense knight to the extreme. He is noted for his suspiciousness, his loyalty to the king, and his tremendous courage.


Gorlois, Duke of CornwallEdit

Duke Gorlois is a grizzled veteran of many fights, battles, and wars. He was the first from Cornwall to support Aurelius Ambrosius, who honored Gorlois with this dukedom, and has since defended it from Irish raiders and Cornwall plunderers. Gorlois is noted for his loyalty to his beautiful wife and his tremendous personal courage. However, he is getting old and has suffered many wounds — his sword is sharp, but his arm is weak.


Ygraine, Duchess of CornwallEdit

Lady Ygraine is the most beautiful woman in Britain, the cultured daughter of a petty lord of some little western island. She came ashore one day and the duke fell instantly in love with her. They have been together ever since, and their bond of affection is noted by everyone despite the difference in their ages. They have three young daughters: Morgan, Elaine and Margawse.
